How The Wealthy Raise Their Children

The Au Pair

A classic symbol of status and wealth (in addition to being in indispensable asset for the ultra-wealthy) a nanny is the backbone of many rich homes. Recent studies have shown that nannies with certain skills — foreign language teaching, for example — can make startlingly large sums of money themselves. A recent survey of nearly 300 rich and ultra-rich (over $10 million in net worth) families show that almost 60% of them have a nanny to help with raising the kids, and of those half lived inside the home. The extra help no doubt gives the children a sense of support and structure when it is most needed, leading to great success down the road.
